This manuscript contains medical texts by John of Gaddesden, John of Parma, Arnaldus de Villa Nova, and Hippocrates. The featured image contains the beginning of John of Gaddesden's Rosa Medicinae (also called Rosa Anglica, 'The English Rose') on fol. 1r, considered to be the first English textbook of medicine. A physician and theologian, John of Gaddesden was a fellow at Merton College.
